Choosing Boxes For Wedding Favors

[ad_1]

When it comes to wedding favors many brides can come unstuck when it comes to their choices for packaging their favors. A very ordinary favor can become something extremely special with the right packaging around it, so it is worth taking some time over and choosing the perfect boxes for your favors.

Here are your choices when it comes to packaging your favors:

Card Boxes – these are the most traditional style of favor box. Usually they are small square boxes with lift off lids. Colors never used to be that wide ranging, typically white, ivory, cream and pink, however in recent years, as wedding color schemes have become bolder, the manufacturers have begun to produce them in a wider range of colors and patterns.

They are perfect for small items such as candies, chocolates, tea lights and soaps.

Other styles of card box include pillow boxes which are oval shaped and are nice for a wide range of items. There is also a wide range of stylish decorative boxes including cones, petal topped boxes, rectangular, hexagonal and chest style.

These styles are often presented as part of a collection which may include one of each style and are typically offered in a small range of color choices and sometimes patterns.

Plastic Boxes – perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, but transparent plastic boxes can offer up a stylish and contemporary choice for your wedding favors, perfect if that is the style of your wedding. Don’t be tempted by cheap ones though as they are not particularly rigid and depending on your favor may not offer much by way of protection.

Plastic boxes are perfect for items such as cakes or cookies which can be shown off in all their glory whilst staying protected.

Aluminum Tins – a very modern and stylish way to present your favors, tins have become very popular for many different types of wedding. Tins offer up much better protection than card or plastic boxes and they have the added bonus of being reusable long after the favor itself has disappeared! You can choose from a variety of shapes and sizes and even lid styles with some have clear inserts in the top.

Tins are ideal for items such as flower seeds and loose leaf tea and ground coffee.

Novelty Boxes – these include top hats, bag boxes shaped like a bride and groom, flowers, butterflies, dice, wedding cakes and many more. Destination weddings don’t escape either with boxes shaped like palm trees or beach chairs.

Often these boxes can be a bit on the small side so only really good for small chocolates or candies.

Other Favor Packaging – other types of packaging include fabric bags made from many different fabrics including voile, cotton, linen, burlap, silk, satin and taffeta. Small paper gift bags are also popular, particularly if your favors are a little on the large side!
