Finding Suppliers For Wedding Favors

[ad_1]

For many brides sourcing wedding favors can be a minefield. With the vast choice of favors available on the market, and the increase in internet sites all vying for their business, finding the right supplier can be something of a headache.

You may have noticed as you surf the web looking for your wedding favors, that many of these websites all stock the same items. This is generally down to a system known as dropshipping, where websites can be set up to sell items but all items are actually shipped from a central source. Aside from dropshipping many of the larger companies also offer wholesale terms and it is the combination of these two methods of selling that has led to rapid increase in wedding favor vendors.

You may thinking 'well why do not I just shop at the big site instead of all these smaller ones?' and you'd be right to think that, however, as you browse around you may begin to notice various special offers, discounts and free shipping offered across most of these sites. These sites need to compete with each other, little point in setting up a site that is identical to your main competitor! So they will all promote various offers and discounts in a bid to get your order.

So what can you expect to find? Here are some typical promotions to look out for:

o Free Shipping on Orders Over $ …….: pretty much all of them will offer you free shipping on orders that total over a certain amount. What you need to look for is the order amount which will vary from site to site as they all compete against each other. Often it can be a difference on only 1c, ie one site offers it on orders over $ 150 whilst the next will offer it on orders over $ 149.99! However there is proof that psychologically buyers will choose the lower figure even though the difference is only 1c! The downside with the free shipping is that you should return any part of the order, no matter how small, you will then become liable for the shipping costs should the new total fall below the free shipping threshold.

o Quantity Discounts: Most sites will offer a discount for bulk purchases, either on singly priced items or on a case full. For instance, a mini photo frame is priced at $ 2 each, buy 12 for $ 1.75 each or a case of 24 for $ 1.50 each. Some will offer tiered prices on various quantities while others will just offer a full case price. These quantity discounts can add up to significant savings, even if you are having a very large wedding and need in excess of say 200 wedding favors I would suggest sourcing a wholesaler as they will offer prices which are lower again.

o Closeouts: Ahh the old old clearance sale! The closeout section is your chance to grab a bargain and save some serious money in the process. Typically this section is reserved for old stock and discontinued items all offered at fantastic discount prices. The disadvantage is that their may well be a limited amount of stock available and you may not be able to get the quantity you need. One way around this is to give your guests different wedding favors, sometimes tailoring them to male and female. If you get the closeouts when they are fresh to the site you may stand a better chance of getting the quantities you need.

o Member Discounts: Many sites will offer a newsletter and alongside this often comes various member discounts and special offers only available to those who receive the newsletter. These can sometimes be as much as 30% off an order so it is well worth signing up for. You will also be informed of any sales, closeouts and new arrivals as they happen enabling you to stay ahead of the game and bag those bargains before anyone else does!
