Fresh Winter Wedding Decor Ideas

[ad_1]

Spring and summer are by far the most popular seasons to get married. However, a lot of people are too quick to discard the idea of a winter wedding. A wedding from November to March can be magical with the right attributes and decoration accents. They are not nearly as common as their spring and summer counterparts, and so will be special and memorable for your guests – who are often overburdened by weddings between June and September!

Let's talk about decor and colors. The go-to color palette for winter weddings is the traditional bright white with silver accents. This can be absolutely beautiful – but you must be careful that it does not feel cold. Try to warm it up by including accents of fire – as in candles, and look for a venue with the option of a roaring fireplace. But winter weddings are not by any means limited to the colors of ice and snow! Get creative with your colors and think outside the box. For a more elegant look try red and gold. For bright and crisp – consider gold and a beautiful apple green. Or use a smattering of shades of blue and / or greens accented by white, crystal or silver to really achieve that WOW factor!

Another idea to consider is to drop all color entirely. Do everything white! How dazzled your guests will feel when they walk into a room filled with white centrepieces, white flowers, white candles, white Christmas trees or Manzanita trees with artificial snow on them. Throw in some accents of crystal to reflect light, and even clear Chiavari or "ghost" chairs would be magnificent. Using a touch of blue light will add a bit of warmth to the room. Shimmering light blue linens and glassware – although a color – will reflect the light in a way that it will simply add sparkle – rather than color. The effect will be indescribable!

Just few more tips for your decor from us:

– Instead of just flowers, add berries in light or dark blue and / or green into the bride's bouquet as well as the centerpieces.

-Use tree branches and add them to your table centrepieces.

– Use an ice sculpture or ice centrepieces.

– Try to make use of as many natural elements as possible – such as tree branches, evergreen sprig boutonnieres, and twig place card holders

– Surround each centerpiece with candles to create a warmer atmosphere. Consider using floating candles, which will create more magical effect

– Make use of different levels when placing candles on the head table. Place some higher than others.

– Place little Christmas trees in your reception area. You might decorate them with some white or silver "flakes", but do not overdecorate. You want them to look more like natural – slightly embellished – evergreens, not your average Christmas tree.
