How You Can Have a Great Wedding on a Budget

[ad_1]

Many people, especially those getting married for a second time, have to carry the cost of the wedding themselves. if you already have to carry the cost of living, including house and car payments, the budget might be rather tight. Here are a few ideas to help you make the most of your wedding (on a budget).

The wedding dress: This is probably the single most expensive item on the list. If you are not capable of making it yourself, look around some family members. Any family member able to create your dress may not be willing to do it for free, but you could get it at a better price. If it really comes to it, you can even rent one.

The flowers: Plan the sizes and shapes of your floral arrangements carefully, and you will be able to take some of the flowers from the church, and use them at the reception. This is best done immediately after the ceremony, while most of the guests are sharing your joy as you emerge from the church.

The food: You could cut the catering costs drastically by offering combinations of snacks. You could make some (or all) of it yourself, or even ask some of your family and friends to contribute some of it.

The car: Ask around to see if anyone among your friends and family knows anyone who owns a vintage car. Most people owning these are proud to show them off, and will gladly help you out. You may not be arriving in a limousine, but you will attract just as much attention. Nobody will realize you are doing a wedding on a budget.

The decorations: If you are not into crafts yourself, ask around for some help among people you know. You only need to learn how to make a few things in order to save yourself a large amount of money. Ask your friends for help to save you some time.

Following these steps will already save you a reasonable amount of money, and allow you to still have a great wedding (on a budget).
