Ideas For Wedding Favors For Children

[ad_1]

Many wedding favors found in stores are unsuitable for children, although much can depend on the age of the child. If you have invited children to your wedding then you will need to find favors that are not only suitable for them but which will hopefully keep them entertained while the 'boring' bits of the reception are going on.

Here are a few ideas for favors for children:

Make up some goody bags which contain a few sweets, some mini coloring sets and a couple of toys. Do not put in too many sweets as this may send them hyperactive!

For a beach wedding give the children buckets and spades and set them a sand castle building challenge. This will get them out of the way while the speeches are going on and you can give each of them a prize afterwards.

Bubbles will keep children entertained for hours, although you may want to think about whether or not you want them blowing bubbles while the reception is going on.

Look for some good quality toys that will keep the occupied. Things like water games, mini magic sets and small activity sets are all good ideas. Avoid anything noisy!

Older children, particularly those in their teens, may appreciate an adult style favor such as photograph frames, CD's (tailor the music to their age group) and items such as mini notebooks, manicure sets and flower seeds will all appeal.

Look out for sets of dress up dolls or bears. Often these little sets consist of a magnetic topped box in which are the dolls or bears and various items of clothing which can be placed on top. These types of toys will keep the children quiet and occupied for ages!

If you are concerned about children being noisy or fidgety during the reception then try and organize a space for them to go and play in when the sentences are going on – which is probably the worst time for children getting bored. Their parents may need to go with them, or ask the venue if there is a trained member of staff who could mind them.

An alternative solution is to give all the children their own table in one corner of the room. Cover it with a white paper table cloth and give them all colored pencils or crayons. They can then doodle away on the table cloth to their hearts content! After the wedding you can cut out each child's section of the cloth for them to take home.
