The 26-year-old singer of hits like “Close” and one-third of the Jonas Brothers, tied the knot with girlfriend and 36-year-old Quantico star, Priyanka Chopra, in a two hour Christian ceremony Saturday, December 1, followed by a traditional Hindu ceremony Sunday – with both families present, according to an US Weekly report.
After announcing their impending nuptials via Instagram in August, the pair opted for a speedy engagement, marrying in an extravagant wedding in the bride’s home country of India. Friends and family from near and far – including Joe and Kevin Jonas, along with Sophie Turner, star of HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones and Joe’s fiancé, and Kevin’s wife Danielle – made the journey to India.
Mirroring the country in which the wedding weekend was held, Chopra opted for a colorful Indian dress to kick off the wedding weekend festivities, while Jonas chose more neutral hues.
The entire bridal party, including Jonas and Chopra, wore custom Ralph Lauren.
In a People Magazine exclusive, Chopra explained why she chose Ralph Lauren to make her wedding style come to life.
“For the Western wedding, we had been talking to a bunch of incredible designers, but ultimately when Ralph Lauren approached us, I learned that Ralph has only designed three wedding dresses in 50 years — one for his daughter, his daughter in law, and his niece,” Chopra explains, adding, “I was blown away.”
For the Christian Ceremony, Chopra wowed guests in an all-over lace gown with an illusion neckline. Her veil was the pièce de résistance, coming in at a stunning 75 feet long.
For the traditional Indian ceremony, Jonas wore a traditional Indian wedding suit, while Chopra stunned in the customary red sari, created by Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
To top off the celebration, Chopra and Jonas’s families participated in an elaborate dance-off in honor of the Sangeet, which both documented via Instagram.
Chopra wrote, “It all began as a fierce song & dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love. Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual … and to see what each side had put together.”
The wedding weekend also featured a three-minute firework display and a special performance by Indian singer Manasi Scott.
According to US Weekly, Jonas and Chopra danced to Roberta Flack’s “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”
The two looked beyond happy, matching their moods to the colorful wedding festivities and color palette. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for the pair!
