You could purchase flowers from your florist, vases from wedding vendors that are personalized and some you could even add a picture of the bride and groom. On the cheaper side you could use unique candles, miska bowls, metal candle sconces, pillar candles with ribbon or lace around them. Some Brides and Grooms like to mix and match their centerpieces.
Whichever you choose it should not end up left at your reception hall. It is impossible to choose on your own who will take them home. You will definitely end up hurting a large majority of your guests feelings if you pick and choose. You do not want to end your event feeling as if your guests are unhappy with you. A great way on avoiding that is by giving your reception hall stickers for them to put one under a single chair at each one of your tables. The stickers do not have to be anything special that is your choice. Then you have your DJ, band or announcer let the guests know that under one chair at each table is a sticker and that who has one may bring the centerpiece home from their table.
By doing this you are not only adding a little exclusion to your event, you are not wasting the money you spent on the centerpieces. They are going home with someone special from your wedding that you made happy. The only downfall is that if you are adding to centerpieces that belong to your reception hall is that you have to make sure the announcer clarifies what the guest is able to take home.
