Why Choose a Destination Wedding

[ad_1]

Until recently it was only really celebrities that chose to have a destination wedding celebration, although nowdays more and more couples are choosing to marry abroad. If your destination wedding is planned and coordinated with the help of a qualified and professional Wedding Planner then you could actually save around £ 10,000 on the cost of a traditional UK wedding; it can also turn your wedding day into an unforgettable holiday for you and your guests. Although it is possible to negotiate with the hotel and airlines separately, you will generally be able to save more money by negotiating the two as a package. Unfortunately, we've talked with quite a few brides over the years who have negotiated a seemingly good rate directly with the hotel – only to find out they were unable to find affordable airfare. Many couples who choose to have a destination wedding would love their ceremony to be unique, fabulous and memorable and getting married abroad would mean that you and your guests would travel somewhere exotic and sensational. Some couples have visited the destination that they have chosen several times for holidays, they love the country and want to spend the most special day of their lives in their idea of paradise One of the most common reasons to choose a destination wedding is to save money .

Finding accommodation for your guests

Making sure that your guests have suitable accommodation is just as important as taking care of your own plans for the wedding. Do not leave all of your guests to arrange their own hotel bookings as it will be difficult to make sure that your guests book into hotels which are convenient and affordable. It is always better to use a wedding professional when booking for a large number of guests as they will often be able to negotiate better deals for group bookings and you are more likely to receive extra services from the hotel for free.

Planning a destination wedding without hiring a wedding planner

A destination wedding can be fabulous and it is the most unique way to celebrate your marriage. Unfortunately, we've heard quite a few horror stories from brides, grooms and their families who chose to plan their wedding entirely on their own. Missed flights with no emergency number for support are a common cause of complain. We have also heard about hidden clauses in hotel contracts leaving couples with an intense financial liability on their hands, reservations being dropped by the hotel – forcing couples and their guests to stay in 2 * bed and breakfast accommodation. You name it – and sadly – we've heard it.

Will I need a wedding coordinator to handle the ceremony at my destination wedding location?

Depending on the ceremony details, it is recommended that you work with someone at the location to help finalize the details. Many resorts and hotels have on-site wedding coordinators, who maintain reputable local vendor lists, and can help organize your big day. Pazazz Weddings and Events will help you choose the best wedding coordinator, and will stay involved with you throughout the planning process. We can, if required coordinate the day but this would mean extra costs to you as we would have to be at the venue for around a week.

What are the legal requirements when getting married out of the country?

The legal requirements of different country vary, clients may need to obtain documents that prove their religion as in some countries as in some counties inter-faith marriages are not allowed, therefore, you should research the law thoroughly before paying any deposits.

Most countries will have rule about territory, however, this is usually only a few days prior to the marriage ceremony. Caution should be taken for some countries with longer residency requirements, for instance: the French marriage law states that you must be a resident in France for 6 weeks – 3 months before the notice of marriage can be issued. Tropical destinations like the Caribbean only have a legal requirement of 3 days.

It is likely that you will need the following documents:

Birth certificates

Valid 10 year passport

Affidavit / statutory declaration confirming single status

Dec Absolute (if you are divorced)

Previous spouse's death certificate (if you are widowed)

Parental consent if you are under 18 (21 in some countries)

Certificate of no Impediment
