What's that you say? You love Dania, but you much prefer the Swedish to the Danish? Then you're in luck, because Hallandale is right down the road. In the late 1800s, Henry Flagler enlisted the help of Luther Halland to create a community of statuesque, square-headed blondes in Southern Florida, just south of the first community of statuesque, square-headed blondes, Dania. Hallandale (as it came to be known) flourished, and is truly one of the gems on the Gold Coast.
Hallandale is just minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale / Hollywood and Miami International Airports, which makes it a great place to act as a base for a South Florida vacation. This is not to say there are not a lot of fun things to do in Hallandale itself; Hallandale offers access to pristine beaches, world-class golf, and fantastic restaurants. In addition to these somewhat common attractions (pretty much all of South Florida is long-suited in golf, beaches, and restaurants), Hallandale is home to Gulfstream Park, one of the finest horse racing tracks in the nation.
If you can pick the ponies, you'll love Gulfstream Park. Recently renovated, it now boasts one and one-eighth mile dirt oval and a one-mile turf oval. It hosts dozens of events each year, and is the three-time host of the Breeder's Cup Championship. In short, this is a world-class racetrack, so if you're a fan, this is the place to go in Florida. Gulfstream Park has also recently become a venue for concerts and performances, so be sure to check out what's going on before you plan your trip to Hallandale.
Naturally, a trip to watch The Sport of Kings at Gulfstream Park just would not be complete without a ride in a limousine (or other luxury vehicle) from Millenium limo. Pamper yourself as royalty should – after all, even if you do not win at the track, you'll win on the ride back. Gather any racing aficionado friends that you may have and head to Hallandale in your Millenium Limo – good times are guaranteed to be had by all.
