Choosing the Right Wedding Venue

[ad_1]

When planning and making preparations for the big day, choosing the right venue for your wedding or reception can be one of the most important decisions that needs to be made. The venue will determine many of the other features of your dream wedding, and is an important part in the planning process. In fact, choosing in the right wedding venue is one of the most important decisions to be made which will in turn affect the rest of the decisions to follow. There are several important factors to consider before choosing a wedding venue, and these should be discussed and researched thoroughly before making a final decision or putting down any deposits.

Wedding Size

You need to make sure that any potential venues that are being considered are big enough to accommodate your wedding party and guests. While your small, hometown church may be ideal, it may not be able to accommodate your extended family and friends from out of town. Choosing a location that is big enough for all potential guests (and don’t forget their plus 1’s) is imperative to pulling off a successful wedding. You also don’t want a venue that is TOO big, so that it dwarfs your wedding party and ceremony. Make the potential guest list prior to deciding on your venue, and make sure to select a venue that fits the guest list nicely.

Weather Accommodations

If getting married outdoors is part of your fairy-tale ceremony, make sure to factor in the typical weather associated with the time of your wedding, and the season. Make sure to have a back-up plan in case of rain, so your wedding is not flushed out unrepentantly.

Fitting the Budget

Coming up with a wedding budget is imperative to securing the location of your dreams in a timely and affordable way. Places book early in preparation for peak seasons, so finding the venue and reserving it for your big day should be done as soon as possible. Make sure that the venue doesn’t cost more than your budget allows, however.

Reception Options

Many wedding venues offer on-site reception facilities for the party after the ceremony. If a reception is something you want following your wedding, it may be worthwhile to consider booking a venue that has available reception facilities onsite.

Choosing a venue is one of the most special and important parts of planning a wedding. By keeping the above factors in mind, the decision can be less overwhelming and more enjoyable for all parties involved. Once the venue is selected, the fun part of planning can begin for decorations, food, dancing etc. Find an event space that you’re comfortable with at a price that fits your budget, regardless of what Mother Nature may throw at you and your big day will be a huge, memorable success.
