High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells – a Kent wedding venue

High Rocks is one of Kent's finest venues with multiple ceremony rooms. The central attraction of the High Rocks Hotel, are the rocks towering above the hotel. Within the soaring High Rocks there are caves, crevices and bridges aplenty. These make for some great wedding photography. The wedding reception drinks are usually served within the garden but can also be served at the base of the High Rocks themselves. This would be the preferred option for the wedding photographer as there are better places to shoot the wedding party here.

The gardens are small but well stocked with flowers and shrubs and there are a couple of nooks and crannies to do the smaller wedding group shots. The gardens slope down towards the railway, which lends itself to doing the bigger group shots. Using the fire escape to gain height over the gardens can make for the best shot of all the guests. The higher the vantage point that the photographer can realize then the better the group shot will be. This means the photographer has a very high angle to shoot down onto the group and means everyone is visible in the end shot.

The steam railway runs by the hotel and there's a small station where the train can stop, if the bride and guests want to turn up in some style. The Spa Valley steam engines make for some sensational wedding photography. On occasion the bride will get ready in Tunbridge Wells and make her way to High rocks via the railway. The wedding photographer may accompany her on the tran itself, and hopefully get some fabulous photographs. The steam billowing across the platform can make for some great shots.

Being one of Kent's most popular wedding venues means that more than one wedding can be taking place on any specific day. The staff will try and keep the weddings apart primarily by timings, but on occasion wedding parties can mix. Obviously not a problem but it may slowly spoil the couples' day somewhat if there are multiple brides wandering about in the garden area, which is shared for all functions.

One of the function rooms is particularly huge and should the weather turn out for the worse it can be used for the wedding photography. Many venues do not really provide anything should it rain or snow. One hundred guests huddled in a small room might be cozy and quite fun but almost impossible to photograph properly.

High Rocks in Tunbridge Wells is an ideal venue where it's possible to get some great Kent wedding photography .
