New York City Events For the Olympics

I think it's safe to say now that the Olympics are well and truly under everyone in New York City is glued to their television sets cheering on our Olympians to gold. And, there's nothing better than cheering on your favorite sport stars in a fun and rowdy environment. New York City has many events coinciding with the Olympics, all you need to do is decide which sports you want to watch and get ready to cheer. Many of the events and events across NYC have happy hours to help with the cheering. I've put together a list of some of the popular venues to watch the Olympics at for the first week.

  • Sunday 10th August: Men's Volleyball, USA vs. Venezuela, late night watch at Rogue (757 Sixth Ave) .This NYC sports bar is located near Madison Square Park, daily drink specials.
  • Swimming, 7pm a major sporting event, watch at Primehouse New York (381 Park Ave. S).
  • Monday, 11th August: Diving, 7pm watch at Ship of Fools (1590 Second Ave). This New York City bar has every angle of the diving covered with 47 TV's, you will not miss a moment.
  • Wednesday, 13th August: Men's Gymnastics, 8pm, watch at Inc. Lounge (224 W. 49th St, 2nd Fl). A major daily event starting at 5pm, is the bar's Olympic happy hour, with cheap drinks while watching the action on the big screen.
  • Thursday, 14th August: Women's Gymnastics, 8pm, watch at the Australian (20 W. 38th St). You can still support the American's at this New York City Bar. Every time the Aussie's score a gold medal, free beer is handed out. Now that's event worth getting down for.
  • Friday, 15th August: Mixed Sports, 8 pm, Watch at 200 Fifth (200 Fifth Ave., Brooklyn, 718-638-2925). The night is filled with plenty of sport from swimming to track. This New York bar has 42 TV's a great spot to watch a major sporting event.
  • Saturday, 16th August: Mixed Sports, 11am, Watch at Wharf Bar & Grill (587 Third Ave). A bit of everything is on today with basketball, track, diving to name a few sports. Spend your Saturday relaxing on the outdoor deck taking in New York City.
