Sarasota Florida Destination Weddings

[ad_1]

Destination weddings are one of today's hottest wedding trends and Sarasota, Florida has become one of the places to get married. Brides that dream of saying their vows on one of the world's most beautiful beaches come to Sarasota from all over the world.

Located on Florida's west coast, Sarasota has over 35 miles of spectacular beaches with the whitest and finest sand in the world. Sarasota is home to world-class resorts that will set the perfect stage for your wedding celebrations. Two of my favorite beachfront venues for destination weddings in Sarasota are The Longboat Key Club and The Lido Beach Resort. Weddings at these resorts can be all-inclusive affairs offering beautiful Gulf-front beaches, luxurious reception venues, and first-class accommodations.

A destination wedding usually spans several days, typically a long weekend, and can incorporated the rehearsal dinner, the wedding ceremony and reception and the day-after brunch. It can also include other wedding-related events such as an after (wedding) party, a bridesmaids luncheon, golf tournament and other activities that bring friends and family together and extend the celebration beyond the standard four or five-hour party.

Be sure to send out your save-the-date so that people can plan their travel in advance to take advantage of frequent flyer miles and airline specials. Set up a website to keep guests informed on accommodations, driving directions from airports and other travel information. The website can also tell them what activities and events to expect, what the dress code is, etc.

Upon arriving at the resort it's a nice touch to have guests present with a welcome bag. Be sure to include a note thanking them for traveling long distance to be with you and also provide a copy of the itinerary for the weekend so they know what to do, when to do it and how to dress.
