Tips for an Outdoor Wedding

[ad_1]

Having an outdoor wedding or event during the summer or fall is a gorgeous way to celebrate. However, you need to keep in mind that it is essential that you have a back-up plan for rain or storms. Outdoor events can also cost quite a bit more money than a traditional venue since a couple needs to bring everything onsite. A wedding planner can help you with all the logistics and extra details that go into planning an outdoor wedding day. Many of our clients choose to marry outdoors or plan outdoor events and we are sure to plan for inclement weather, bugs, mud- you name it!

When planning your outdoor event, you will need to rent all of the event items and supplies since you'll most likely be starting with a blank canvas.

Here's a short list of what you'll need:

-Table rentals
-Chair rentals
-Napkin rentals
-Plates, glassware and flatware rentals
-Table linen rentals
-Portable restrooms – You do not want to destroy the home plumbing by overuse on the big day. We recommend spending a little extra money to get a nice restroom trailer.
-A dance floor- Make sure it's big enough for your guest count.
-A generator – For the musicians and or DJ equipment, extra lighting, etc. You should also consider a back-up generator to be prepared for anything!
-Speakers – Without your DJ will supply these. Make sure there's loud enough sound for the space you'll be in.
-Lighting. Beyond decor, once the sun goes down, you'll need some lighting.
-Microphones
-Tent – Your Plan B in case Mother Nature decides not to play along.
-Permit – Check your local laws for gatherings of more than 100 people.
-Parking space- Consider having your guests transported in from a larger parking lot.
-A dumpster. You'll either need a dumpster or you may need to take the trash out with you once the event is over.

If you want to throw your soiree in a public place, you may need permits for the following:

-Beaches
-State park land
-Private or public gardens
-Estates
-Alcoholic beverages on public grounds
-Fire use (candles, torches, etc)
-Fireworks
-Exptions from local noise violation laws

Although there can be a lot more planning involved in an outdoor affair, it may be worth it to have a personal home wedding or a ceremony in a fun, off-beat locale. Look for amazing backdrops like mountain cliffs, a gorgeous city skyline or beneath an old, large tree. Just do not forget the bug repellent!
