If you are a bit too high falutin to yield to the old style of doing things, you can go to your local dollar store or similar outlet and purchase the newer version of personal air conditioning, the battery operated personal little plastic fan. These little things do kick up quite a breeze with very little noise, and can be used at other events after the wedding reception and ceremony. If you are in the mood to go "whole hog" into the arena of personal air conditioning, you can get the more expensive model which includes a personal mister, blowing a fine water mist into the breeze made by the fan.
If you are lucky enough to live in the great white North and are holding your wedding ceremony either in the fall or in the winter, surely you may want to get a window scraper with the names of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding embossed on the blade or on the handle. Who would not love you for that especially if the wedding was blessed with a few inches of fresh snow during the festivities?
Thinking it over, an ice scraper as a wedding favor even in the height of summer is not a bad party favor in the great white North. You know your wedding guests are going to need them some time soon, and you'll get a giggle out of your guests when they get an ice scraper at a June wedding.
