Wedding Confetti – There's More to it Than You Think

[ad_1]

You could have forgiven for thinking that there is not much to say about the pieces of colored paper thrown over the bride and groom after their wedding ceremony, but these days there is more to wedding confetti than meets the eye.

The style of wedding confetti not only varies wildly but so does how it is thrown, the quantities it can be purchased in, and what other things you can do with it.

As well as coming in every conceivable color, the shapes of these little bits of paper are innumerable. Think hearts, bells, rings, doves to name but a few. You can also include words like 'Congrats' in your confetti packets. But your decisions do not stop there, next you need to decide what material your confetti will be made of. Tissue paper is no longer the only option. There are also plastic and diamond-like varieties. These days biodegradable wedding confetti is the most popular as the traditional throwing option. Many wedding venues insist on it to assist them in clearing up and in protecting the environment. Biodegradable in this instance generally means that the confetti dissolves in water.

Throwing the confetti is the fun event that the guests take an active part it. You can supply your guests with little bags or envelopes of confetti that they can shower over you or even wedding confetti poppers. These are not like party poppers in that they do not make a bang, but they do shoot the confetti out in a good blast. For something a bit more impressive, you can hire confetti machines. These can either blast out quick shots or continuous streams of confetti.

When you come to buying your confetti you will find it available in a number of sizes. These could be scoops, cups, half ounces or pounds depending on where you are buying from. You ideally want to aim on each guest having a few tablespoons of confetti each, so by translating this into scoops or cups you can buy the correct quantities. If you have any extra you could always use it to sprinkle in thank you cards.

As well as being thrown all over you, wedding confetti can be used to decorate many items to do with the wedding. This could start with the invitations, then move onto the wedding venue, the table centerpieces and even the favors. If you are buying it for this purpose you should plan on half an ounce being sufficient for 1-2 tables. Depending on what you want to decorate, will determine what type of confetti is best suited. Diamond confetti is usually best for decoration. It is heavier so will stay in place, is sparkly so adds a touch of elegance to any displays and is quite cheap costing only $ 7 for 2000 diamonds.
