Men's Rings and the Men's Game of Golf

[ad_1]

Golf … lot's of it. A man NEEDS golf. It's like the intravenous at the hospital – essential. Food to our bodies. Music for the soul. In fact it's more, it's the sticky, gooey, calorie-rich icing on the cake, it's avoidance, lethargy and lies in politics, it's what love is to family. It runs in and through a man's veins. Well, you get the picture, we're not talking a "nice to have" here …

I play golf and I'm a man. I hang around people who play golf and talk golf and sneak away at lunch to play golf. Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying golf is everything in life – there are many other things that are close in importance. Like families – they are close. Really close. And jobs – most of us need a job so that we can then play golf – so jobs are also essential. I mentioned food and water – you need energy on the course to be able to play your best shot into the green; so food and water are also essential. Friends – what would a good game of golf be without friends to play with or at least be there for you so that you could share your latest and greatest golf stories with? My sense is that Saturday's were made for golf. They were not made for working in the yard or cleaning up around the house – you know common chores. No way – a Saturday is to golf what Tuesday is to practicing golf. Men just see these things more clearly. They get it.

Now, I'm not one personally to have all the weights and shaft types memorable for each and every club in my bag. I think we are talking a little extreme here when golfer's start doing those types of things. I mean I understand what the club faces are made of – in most cases Titanium. But Titanium has been around for a lot longer than golf. Golf was first played in 1456 at Bruntsfield Link in Scotland. Titanium, as we know it, was first produced in about 1910 and has an atomic number of 22. Golf courses originally had more than 18 holes but some players complained that the holes were too short so they were combined from 22 down to 18. Wood was generally used for the long-ball big woods as they were called. Titanium was introduced in the 1970's as a primary source of material on woods because of its strength and lightweight properties – perfect for golf. Titanium is also used in the world of defense – airplanes, rockets, missions – its lightweight and high melting point make it a perfect metal for many applications. But back to golf …

Most men wear a ring – most men wear a ring on their left hand on their third finger – a Men's wedding ring we call it. You have to be careful if you are a lefty in golf and wear your ring on your left hand because golf gloves are made for the opposite hand and a ring can cause rubbing and blistering if not protected. So lefties – you might want to slip your ring off during a long game of golf or simply wear a glove on both hands – but that would look a little sissyish … do not you think? By the way, some of the finer men's rings are made of Titanium as well – it appears the light weight and durability make this metal an ideal application for this purpose also. Do not you just love to think of playing a round of golf on a Saturday with Titanium clubs, wearing a men's ring made of titanium as well? Kind of like a woman pulling up a dainty chair and sipping tea with friends watching Sense and Sensibility. Heh – we all have our passions! Let's be a little balanced!
