Beach Wedding Ideas – Hints and Tips For Your Destination Wedding

[ad_1]

If you or someone you know is planning a wedding, you should consider a beach themed wedding for your big day. There are endless possibilities you can draw inspiration from for beach wedding ideas. In this article we will discuss different hints and tips, including ideas for beach theme invitations, beach wedding dresses, locations, flowers, photography, and beach themed favors and decorations.

Beach Theme Invitations

The first thing to set the tone of your wedding is to send out your invitations. There are many beach themed wedding invitations out there to choose from, or if you’re someone who is crafty, you could even consider making your own. Invitations featuring photos of a sandy beach, rolling waves, seashells, starfish, palm trees, a tropical sunset or a seascape will definitely get your guests in the mood for your beach themed wedding!

Beach Wedding Dresses

There are many beautiful dresses available that would fit in a beach setting. Whether you want something flowing and sleeveless, short and simple like a sundress, or something lacy and more elegant, the options are almost endless. Most beach wedding dresses are somewhat informal and are either strapless, halter-topped or feature spaghetti straps. There are many styles of sandals appropriate for the beach or flip-flops to wear, whether you opt to go with white flip-flops with bright, uplifting flowers on the straps, or more elegant, beaded “barefoot” sandals that wrap around your ankles and your middle toes. There are also many different beach themed bridesmaid dresses to choose from. Whether you want your bridal party to wear billowy sundresses splashed in Hawaiian print, or solid, bright colors, there are many ways to dress your bridal party for your big day!

Destination Wedding Locations

You do not have to travel to a beach in order to have a beach themed wedding. If you are nowhere near a beach, or do not wish to have a destination wedding, you can always bring the beach to you. All it takes is the right color schemes, music, flowers and decorations.

Of course, if you do happen to live near a beach, or wish to have a destination wedding, there are many beaches in the world to choose from. Coastal states have a plethora of beach wedding locations — just go to your favorite search engine and type in the state you wish to get married in, along with “beach wedding locations.”

Flowers and Photography

Typically the flowers that are used for beach themed weddings are big, bright, and sunny, such as daisies, geraniums, carnations, roses and lilies. Most brides planning a beach themed wedding choose flowers in vibrant shades of pink, orange, yellow, blue, green, white or purple, but you could also opt for subtler hues. In fact, instead of using flowers, why not use seashells? Nothing quite says “beach wedding” like a bouquet of tan and white colored seashells, or seashell themed centerpieces.

When you think of the beach, you almost always think of sand, and this can be used in both your flowers and photography. Nothing catches the drama and special feeling of a beach themed wedding quite like pictures taken in black and white or sepia toned. Not only is this reminiscent of the sand on the beach, it also makes for some interesting, lovely pictures!

Beach Themed Favors and Decorations

You can’t have a beach wedding without seashells, starfish, sand, or candles. One great idea for beach wedding decorations is filling a round glass vase or small bowl about a quarter full of sand, placing a votive candle atop the sand, and strategically placing some seashells and starfish around the candle. This not only makes a lovely, decorative centerpiece, but could also be used as a beach wedding favor.

There are many ideas to choose from when planning your beach wedding. All it takes is a little time, effort and creativity, and before you know it you will be swimming in beach wedding ideas. If you shop around for different ideas online, you will be able to plan the beach wedding of your dreams- oh, and one more thing. Don’t forget to play the Beach Boys!
