As a world-renounced wedding gown designer, it makes perfect sense that Vera Wang's bridesmaid dresses are the most popular among brides who want designer bridesmaid dresses.
The ultimate goal of the 2010-2011 Vera Wang bridesmaid dress collection is to provide a sense of fashion and versatility to the traditional notions of what a bridesmaid dress should be. Her collection this season sent twelve distinctly different looks down the runway.
The first two dresses were knee length, and they were constructed of satin. The first gown is ivory in color and features a deep V neckline. The second gown was of a lilac color and was strapless. The third gown in this group featured two-inch wide straps at the shoulders and was of floor length. It was featured in a medium brown tone. All three gowns featured a belted waistline.
The second group of Vera Wang Bridesmaid dresses to come down the runway was quite interesting. The first two gowns were black in color. Although brides have been using black as a color for bridesmaid dresses for years, it is still considered very unusual for a couture fashion designer to send this color down the runway. Both gowns reached the floor in length. The first gown had spaghetti straps, and the second gown was sleeveless with a rather high neckline. The third dress was of cocktail length, and it featured another unusual color scheme: champagne. The gown is quite minimal in its draping. It is strapless and contains a bow detail at the waistline.
The last six gowns of the collection were reminiscent of styles that Vera Wang has produced before. The first four dresses of the second half of the collections were of cocktail length. The color hues ranged from gray to hunter green to navy blue. All four gowns retained a belted waistline. The gowns ranged from strapless to spaghetti strapped to halter necked. One navy blue dress possessed pleating detail in the bust area, and the second navy blue dress had a bow detail at the left shoulder. The last two gowns were reached the floor in length. One was featured in a periwinkle blue, and the other was featured in a navy blue. These two gowns lacked the belted waistline. Instead, they featured Grecian draping through the dress. This collection certainly displays a broad spectrum of style choices. For Vera Wang devotees, it will be easy to find the perfect Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses for their wedding.
