Red Wedding Gowns – Why Not?

[ad_1]

In western culture, the white wedding dress still rules, well … somewhat. Although, more and more brave brides are slowly moving away from this tradition. These brazen ladies are stepping out and breaking through some of those Victorian based do's and don'ts.

About 5 years ago many of the popular US designers started introducing more color into their collections. And over the last 3 years, there usually is not one season that does not have at least some color in it. Initially, many brides were aghast when even black was introduced as an accent to make for a very dramatic contrast.

Slowly but surely, brides seeking ontrend gowns have come to accept this as more of the norm. Brides everywhere are breaking with that all white or ivory wedding gown, and opting for either all red wedding gowns or even a ding red and black wedding dress. And why not? Red wedding dresses are standard fare in countries like India and Japan. The Chinese even consider red to be a lucky color and wearing it means just that, fortune.,

Some women want so desperately to introduce a splash of color into their gown but are either afraid or have to deal with the traditional naysayers in their families or amongst their friends. If this is the case, then consider white and red wedding dresses. This is a compromise that may just be your answered prayer. If not, then opt for a detachable sash, this way you can put it on for the reception and that probably will not raise as many eyebrows as if it was worn during the ceremony.

There is of course that old Latin saying "Fortune Favors The Bold" so why not wear a red wedding dress? The color itself evokes so many emotions – all of which a bride probably feels about herself. Red conjures up feelings of passion, romance, love, sexuality and power. And truthfully, a bride can have the most stunning wedding dress in the world, but if she does not see herself as beautiful, then it's all for nothing.

Whichever way you go, whether it's a splash of red or a full blown red wedding gown, remember if color makes you feel gorgeous and powerful, then walk down the Isle with something that you and no one else will ever forget!
