Hens Night Party Ideas

[ad_1]

If you're about to get married you're sure to want to celebrate the end of being single but finding original hens night ideas rather than just going out for a few drinks is not that easy.

Before you get to the party or event, there are a couple of things you need to decide:

Number 1 – How far before the wedding do you want your hen or bucks night party? Too near to the wedding will not give you time to get over the hangover and / or unwanted shaving, hair dye or spray tanning. Too far before the wedding and the meaning of the event will be a bit lost so probably one or two weeks before the wedding will be about right.

Number 2 – Who will you invite? You do not need to invite every woman or man who is invited to your wedding. Stick to eight to twelve fairly close friends and you can not go far wrong.

Number 3 – Who's paying? If everyone is paying for themselves then some of your friends might find a weekend in Rome a bit pricey so think about that angle before you choose.

That out of the way, here are some suggestions:

Hens Night Ideas

Traditionally, the chief bridesmaid organizes the hens night so if that's you, do check what the hen would like to do for her special night.

Consider choosing a private venue, particularly if you're going to have hens night party games which might turn rowdy. People who are not invited will not want to have their evening ruined by a crowd of noisy women so get a private room at a club or hotel where you can let your hair down.

If the budget is tight you could have the party at your home or at the home of one of the other girls. Somewhere with plenty of room for you all to spend the night would be a good idea. Serve cocktails and special little nibbles, maybe with a theme like a kiddies tea party or similar. Vodka jellies always go down well!

Organize some hens night party games such as Chink and Drink to break the ice. Make sure everyone has a drink and call out the name of a group to "chink and drink"; groups could be bride's family, groom's family, bride's workers, etc. If you want to make sure that the bride pays a forfeit you could call out "chink and drink anyone who's marrying a guy called Paul (or whatever) in the next two weeks". Make sure that everyone has the chance to chink and drink.

Other hens party games could include:

1. A design the wedding dress competition. Provide lots of white toilet paper, crepe paper, sticky tape, staplers and if you have some spare ribbon or lace that would be good. Divide the girls into teams and have them choose a model on whom to create their wedding dress. Provide a prize.

2. A how much do you know about the hen competition. She will need to provide the answers to these questions a few days beforehand.

3. A how much does the bride know about the groom competition. Get him to give you some family background and accidents from his childhood and teen years to test the bride's knowledge. Drinking forfeits are traditional if she gets an answer wrong.

4. If you're going to a club then how about some dares which attract prizes or forfeits such as going up to a stranger and kissing him, asking him to dance or asking him to buy you a drink or singing embarrassing karaoke songs.

Alternately, you need not have a rowdy, drunken gathering. Why not have a day's pampering at a spa, have lunch at a country house or winery or take part in an adventurous sport like abseiling or tackling an assault course.

If the bride is feeling generous or her friends are pretty well off then you could organize a few days in say Paris or Amsterdam if you live in Europe or New York or Boston for USA-dwellers or any other suitably exciting and romantic city near where you live.
