One of the numerous challenges facing a bride – is how to get her bridesmaids to look pretty both as a group and as individuals. Each person needs to have a dress and bridesmaid jewelry that is complimentary to her body shape and coloring. Without the bride is having four bridesmaids and they are identical quadruplets with the same coloring, picking out dresses and jewelry can pose a big problem. Each of her friends / relatives who she has chosen to be her bridesmaids typically have different body builds, features, and coloring.
White and black dresses would suit everyone, but those colors are out for obvious reasons. Only the bride should wear white and black is too somber a color for a happy occasion like a wedding. Although bridesmaids' gowns and jewelry sometimes can be a combination of the two colors – with a bright colored bouquet to add a dash of color.
Black and write gowns will flatter any body shape and the various bridesmaids will likely be more accepting of the bride's choice – as opposed to each bridesmaid trying to influence the bride to pick the color she would like to be wearing, like peach, or pink, or plum – that might be her favorite color – but would look awful on her fellow bridesmaids.
As for the bridesmaids' jewelry, everything goes beautifully with white / black gowns. The bridesmaids' jewelry, like earrings and necklaces, can be pearls or silver or the color that matches the individual bouquets. If, for example, the bridesmaid is holding a bouquet of red roses, she could be wearing ruby earrings on her ears. Her escort could have a ruby tie that will match her jewelry and flowers. If she is marching down the aisle with another bridesmaid, her friend, who looks good in blue, can have sapphire earrings and a bouquet of blue flowers.
On one hand the bridesmaids will have a reliably uniform look, yet each will have her unique style that will enhance her look. They girls will have so much fun shopping together for their gowns – or going for fittings if they are custom made – and enjoy getting their individual accessories. Part of the fun of being a bridesmaid is that no matter what, she will be noticed as she walks down the aisle and it is important that each looks her best. By having a universally flattering color scheme – a combination of white and black – and the choice of flower bouquet and jewelry that meets the color of the flowers, each bridesmaid can confidently be on display knowing she looks her best.
After the wedding, each bridesmaid will have a pretty yet practical outfit that she can wear to other parties or formal affairs, rather than have yet another bridesmaid gown taking up space in the closet. A black and white outfit can be accessorized to match the nature of the party-high end or more informal, evening or afternoon. The bridesmaid can wear the outfit originally bought or made for the wedding months, even years after that happy occasion. It's the dress that keeps on "giving."
