3 Tips For Writing The Perfect Wedding Speech

[ad_1]

Preparing the perfect best man speech is a job that many of us will have to do at some point in our lives, but few of us are comfortable with. It is as nerve racking a prospect as almost anything you will have to go through.

However, by following a few simple rules, you will be able to get through it without making a fool of yourself and keeping the bride and groom happy. Remember, it's their day, not yours, so do not try to upstage them.

Tip 1.

Above all else, remember that you will be speaking to a room full of people of all ages, from young toddlers to grandparents and maybe even great grandparents. You will not go down well if you start to turn the air blue with rude jokes and embarrassing situations that might not be in the interests of the wedding party. You should never say things in your speech that you would not be comfortable saying to any of the guest's faces.

Tip 2.

You should start preparing the groundwork for your speech straight away. Speak to anyone who knows the groom and the bride; friends, family and work collections. Get as many stories about them as you can. You do not have to use them all, but the more you have the better choice you have for the final speech.

Tip 3.

Make sure that you include not only the funny stories, but also at least one romantic story of how they met. Many of the guests there will be more interested in that side of things than all the jokes and funny stories, so remember to cater to them to.

So just to summarize, to help you write that perfect speech, keep it clean, get as many stories as you can to choose from and get at least one romantic story in your wedding toast speech.

As an additional tip, remember to stay sober until after you have made your speech. There is nothing worse for an audience that listening to someone slurring their words and making a fool of themselves. After that, you are free to drink as much as you want, your job is done.
