A White Strapless Wedding Dress – The New Classic

[ad_1]

The white strapless wedding dress is now the new classic.

Every bridal shop and magazine has made the words strapless and wedding dress go hand and hand.

So whether you are sick of this style or if you can not get enough, the strapless bridal gown is here to stay. But this cut of bridal dress is not for everyone. Every bride-to-be reads to get the gown that they really want and most of the time this is possible. But what should you know before you settle on that white strapless wedding dress?

Even as little as a decade ago, most women would not consider going strapless for their wedding. Whether this was do to modesty, or religious reasons, strapless wedding dresses were usually reserved for evening / party attire. Well times have changed and frankly, the largest selection of bridal gown styles nowdays falls into the strapless category. So what type of bride looks great in this style and what type of bride should avoid it all costs?

First of all never buy any wedding gown that you are not 100% comfortable in. It does not matter how many embellishments the wedding dress has or even the cut. If you are not confident and comfortable with how you look, then do not buy it. Remember, you are wearing the wedding dress, not the other way around. And that is why brides in the simplest of dresses often look stunning because the dress does not take away from them. So keep that in mind.

If you are a size 12 and below, then you should have no trouble choosing a white strapless wedding gown as your dress for that special day. If you are over a size 12, then here are some things to consider about this dress style.

Even if you have a smaller bust and you wear a US size 12 and up, your dress will need boning to stay secure, and look right. If you have a larger bust, then you will want to look into extra boning for added support. Boning is imperative when purchasing a strapless bridal gown in larger sizes.

The next feature that needs to be addressed with white strapless wedding dresses is the type of closure your gown will have. Of the three options, covered button, hidden zipper or corset style closure, you should consider how much your measurements will change right before your big day. If you have been consistent with your weight and measurements, then a zipper or button closure is fine. But, if you are like most brides and have fluctuated, or expect to fluctuate, then a french corset style closure might just be the ticket for you.

French corset style closures can fix a world of last minute issues that many brides face. You can literally tighten or loosen your bodice up to 2 inches depending on how the corset lining is designed. This can be a godsend for the bride that has been under stress and either gained or lost last minute weight.

All in all, if your heart is set on a white strapless wedding dress, you can have your dream gown as long as you stick to these simple guidelines.
