Preparing for your wedding? Do not leave your skin and beauty to the last minuet! Now that summer has faded away, your skin, having been moistened by the more humid winter months will now start to notice the dryer, breazier atmosphere the cooler months have to offer. Black skin in particular reacts harshly to cold, dry weather. In order to give your makeup artist a great canvas on which to work his or her's magic, follow these simple steps.

Firstly you must must, exfoliate your skin. If you do not get rid of the dead skin on your face and neck area, it will surely accumulate dead skin on your new skin causing unsightly discolouration to your skin tone, rough, pale looking skin. It could also lead to blocked pores and blackheads as your skin is not helped to breathe. This is such an important step for black skin as dead skin causing unsightly blotching.

Condition. It's not just the hair that needs conditioning. Afro Caribbean / African brides need to condition the skin also. At times our hormones can change how our skin reacts. Try natural products (not just a hint of) but pure coco butter, coconut oil, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter etc .. this will condition your skin and give it natural protection from the elements. In the absence of Natural Vitamin E from the sun, try using oils with added Vitamin E or take supplements.

Moisturise. With good condition, only a light moisturizer is needed. Ensure that it is water based and try and invest in natural or simple products to keep your skin moist. Do this daily in the run up to your wedding, in-fact do it every day!

Purify. Nearer to the wedding start going to the sauna, or steaming your face. This will drive out impurities and help towards a flawless result on your wedding day. It's also great for stress relief. Drink more water than usual and avoid greasy or overly sweet foods. Ensure your last Sauna is at least two weeks before the wedding as we do not want impurities coming out on your wedding day!

Lastly..if you are getting married within the next 12 month, book your makeup artist & hair stylist! A professional Makeup Artistry Group with specialists in Makeup for Black Skin. Try to find a company who specialize in Afro Bridal Hair styles. Google bridal makeup for black skin so that get specialists who know about your skin tone, a company which has specialists in bridal hair design is the only way to go on your wedding day.

Choose a company where the artists are called upon for live TV Shows, TV Brides, Brides Magazines as well as Catwalks and Theater shows, or work in colleges on beauty courses. Try and identify some images that you like to ensure the skill level is to your satisfaction and remember to book early!
