Ask a woman what she wants to achieve in the next few years of her life and chances are, figuring in her own dream wedding tops the list. Indeed, a dream wedding, complete with all the works, is every woman’s desire.
Since a wedding is one remarkable event that will be remembered all throughout a couple’s lives, a lot of things need careful consideration during the preparation phase. There’s the venue of the wedding ceremonies and reception to keep in mind. The entourage, dresses, favors, invitations and guest list need careful planning and thought as well. But top most in the list of wedding essentials is the wedding decorations.
Some couples hire coordinators to take care of the wedding details. However, there are some who want to be hands-on when it comes to the preparation. They reason that adding their personal touch to the wedding details makes it all the more memorable. So what they do is work on some of the decorations and wedding favors themselves.
Since flowers and candles are staples when it comes to weddings, some ingenious brides-to-be have found a way to incorporate both in wedding candelabras. Without a doubt, wedding candelabras enhance the romantic and dreamy atmosphere in most weddings. They also highlight the theme or motif of the wedding.
Now supposing you are getting married and you have decided to work on your own wedding candelabra decoration. How do you go about especially when you are not an expert at making floral centerpieces? First make sure you have the materials.
Materials for Wedding Candelabra Decoration:
Floral foam cage, preferably 3″ x 6″
Plenty of different sized greenery bush
Small floral sticks
4-5 Large silk flowers
A floral bush with small flowers
Ribbons (thin ones)
Floral wire
Here are a few tips to help you make your own wedding candelabra decoration:
First choose the color of the candelabra itself. Some color options are gold, silver bronze and pewter.
Next, choose a greenery or floral bush that has a weeping look to it. The reason for this is so that the floral bush drapes down along the candelabra’s front. Cut the stems and add floral sticks.
From the top view of the floral cage, start adding your greenery making sure that they go out and drape down. The longer stems must stay at the bottom with at least 3 to 4 stems of another greenery just to add some color to the base. Don’t worry if the greenery you’ve applied so far looks scant. You’re going to fill up those odd spaces with silk flowers later on.
Cut the large silk flower stems and add floral sticks. You may place the large silk flower at the top or in the middle.
Cut the smaller silk flowers, add floral sticks and arrange them on top of the draping greenery. Push them upwards so that they lay along the greenery.
Make bows with the ribbons, add a floral stick and place it right smack to accent the floral arrangement.
Use the floral wire to attach the whole arrangement to your candelabra.
Basically, creating your own wedding candelabra decoration is fun and easy as long as you put your heart to it. Make your wedding more memorable by creating your own wedding decoration.
