Hair Extensions For Wedding Hair Styles Or Just a General Makeover

Hair extensions, as their name suggests, are sections of hair added to your own natural hair, giving it added volume and length, even changing its style. Hair Extensions can be real or synthetic. The most popular type are made from human hair. These cost more but look more realistic than synthetic. There are other alternatives, but these are the two most commonly used.

They come in many varieties and can be pre-coloured, pre-highlighted or pre-permed with curls or a body wave. Depending on how it was attached, you may need to have your hair extensions re-applied after six or eight weeks, or they may last anything up to four months. Re-attaching will always be required periodically because our natural hair carries on growing, the bonding agent becomes loose, life happens, and you’ll need to re-adjust and refresh your hair’s appearance.

Hair extensions can be put in, in a variety of ways depending on your requirements and budget. If you are wanting a temporary solution, that are easy to manage, then why not think about clip-in extensions. These can be bought from most hair extensions shops or online stores. Ponytail extensions are popular choices in clip-ins. Though quite a few clip-ins are generally not widely available in subtle colour variations, they can still be purchased in the common shades.

Taking good care of your hair extensions is quite a bit different to caring for your normal hair. You should follow the after care tips from your salon very carefully, otherwise they will not last as long as they should, which is rather a waste of time and money. Remember too that you can have extensions curled and highlighted and so on, but this must be done professionally and is not really something you should try on your own at home. Hair extensions should not be more than double the length of your natural hair. Never go to bed with your extensions damp, and always tie your hair up when sleeping, this will help prevent problems such as tangling. Run your fingers through the braids to get rid of tangles, doing this regularly is recommended to help maintain them. Don’t brush harshly and tug at the extensions, as this can put strain on the bonds which hold them to your scalp. When you brush your hair, use a brush with soft bristles and work your way up from the bottom to the top, using the brush gently.

As well as finding out how and what happens when your extensions are put in, it is equally important to know about the process of how hair extensions are removed. There are two ways in which your hair extensions are removed; one for fake hair and one for natural hair. For fake hair the seal that is protecting where the extensions are braided to your own hair is gently heated to soften it, meaning that the extension easily slips away from your natural hair. If real hair was used with a bonding resin then a releaser solution is applied. This releaser solution allows each individual extension to be removed safety and efficiently.

Hair Extensions are becoming increasingly popular for wedding hair styles. For brides who require longer, thicker hair, this is a fast and simple solution to achieve their desired look. Clip in hair extensions are an even better option if they do not require a semi permanent application.
