As you begin or just continue planning your wedding you will need to choose a multitude of people to do various jobs. The earlier you choose them the better because they will often need time to fulfill their duties and find the correct attire. Here is a short list of the most important people in your party.
Maid of Honor- Choosing a good maid of honor is priceless. She will be there for you probably more then your fiance. She will help you choose the dress, decorations, be there to hug you when your overwhelmed, shield you from all the calls you'll get from relatives and so much more. Choose the maid of honor as soon as you can so you can get the support, help, guidance, friendship and love she provides.
Best Man- Your spouse will want to make sure he knows who his best man is. I also like to make sure the best man knows what his responsibilities are and that he's willing to do them. For instance, overlooking the ushers, protects the brides ring, signs the marriage license, makes a speech and also helping out when needed with various wedding tasks.
Bridesmaids and ushers- You can choose whether or not to have any and how many, but make sure they have enough time to pick out the right outfit and make travel arrangements if necessary.
Flower Girl- Usually the youngest girl in the family in the age range of 3-8. Before asking the girl to be the flower girl, make sure you ask her parents first, this is just common courtesy.
Ring Bearer- Usually the youngest boy in the family age 3-8. Just like the flower girl you will want to ask the parents before asking the boy.
If you have the need other kids age 7-15 to play a role so as not to offend anyone then a good role is a junior bridesmaid or junior usher. You can also come up with your own like greeters and present takers, as well.
