If you can not find what you want when you're shopping for dresses, consider having them custom made by a dressmaker or designer. That way you can incorporate your own unique ideas in the dress design, and make it an extra-special extension of your own dress and style. Many designers also offer standard designs that you can add trims, details, and other accessories to and make them exclusively yours, which can be a very lovely way to show your style on your wedding day.
Go Cocktail
There's a growing trend to choose cocktail-length bridesmaid dresses instead of the traditional long gowns. It's a great trend for bridesmaids, because almost everyone can use a good cocktail dress in their wardrobe, so they'll get a lot more use out of the dress, while still looking elegant at the wedding. They do not all have to be the same style, just the same color to tie the wedding together.
Just Separate
Another way to keep your bridesmaids happy is to choose separates for your bridesmaid gowns. Choose one or two skirt styles, and several different tops, and let them mix-and-match to fit themselves. They'll have a unified look but still get to choose a style that flatters their body type. Separate can be easy to fit on larger girls, too.
You do not have to follow customs when you choose your bridesmaid dresses. Every girl does not have to look like a carbon copy of the next one when they walk down the aisle. Choose different dresses, styles, and designs when you choose your bridesmaid dresses, so your wedding is stylish, hip, and cool all at the same time.
