Your duties will include organizing the bachelor or stag party, his suit and appearance, getting him to the church (on time and with the rings) and speaking at the reception. Of course, one of the many highlights at any reception is wedding toasts from the best man.
Content.
To give memorable speech you should first think about who is going to be there and then what you can and can not say! Here is a guide to what you really should not risk-
Never make any mention of past marriages.
The bride's dress looks amazing ….. regardless!
The menu / meal was also rubbish.
Bride and Grooms secrets.
As temptation as it maybe -don't tell the mother-in-law jokes (other than course you ok with her first …. good luck with that!).
Do not ask for odds on the marriage!
Do not brag about how expensive your gift to them was!
The food at your last wedding was much better …..
and definitely not – A toast 'Until the next time' …….
My favorite, but not sure if you should risk it? …….
Care for Your Mother-in-law
A man, his wife and his mother-in-law went on vacation to the Holy Land. While they were there, the mother-in-law passed away.
The undertaker told them, 'You can have her shipped home for £ 5,000, or you can bury her here in the Holy Land for £ 150.'
The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home.
The undertaker asked, 'Why would you spend £ 5,000 to ship your mother-in-law home, when it would be wonderful to have her buried here and spend only £ 150?'
The man replied, 'a man died here 2,000 years ago, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can not take that chance. '
