Writing Your Toast to the Bride and Groom With Examples of Best Man Speeches

[ad_1]

Preparing a speech to give a toast to the bride and groom can be a daunting task. Not to mention having to deliver a speech in front of hundreds of guests. If you’re the best man, there’s no way to escape this responsibility. You will just need to stand up and say what you need to say. Not to worry though, this article will provide you with a short guide and a few examples of best man speeches to choose from.

Start by introducing yourself and how you knew the groom or the couple.

“Hello! I’m John’s best man and my name is Sean. I’ve known John since we were in college. We are actually members of the rowing club in our alma mater. John was also my best man during my wedding three years ago and he did such a great job. He did expose some things about me that I would have preferred to not be mentioned. But I’m not going to retaliate so I’m not going to mention about the time he did time in prison and the few months he spent in rehab.”

Describe how the groom was like before he met his wife.

“We met Sheila about two years ago and we thought how perfect a wife she would make for one of our friends, not John. As it turns out, John spotted her first before Jerry and immediately took it upon himself to make sure that she doesn’t go out with Jerry. John was a changed man when he and Sheila started dating. John had such a commitment phobia that all the ladies he dated wanted to kill him. But Sheila changed John from a man who hated commitments to a man who would dare to love for the rest of their lives.”

Offer the congratulations and toast.

“John and Sheila, here’s to many years of happiness, long life and many kids. Congratulations, you are both a beautiful couple embodying love and commitment like no other. Here’s to you, John and Sheila!”
