Planning a Colorful Wedding on a Budget

[ad_1]

Your wedding should be something spectacular, something that you'll be able to carry around in your hearts and memories for the rest of your lives. But like with any event, there's some planning needed and there's also money to consider. If you're on a budget and do not want to overspend for a lavish wedding, there are a few tips and tricks you can abide to in order to save up on expenses. Money aside, you should think about the fact that this may very well be the most important day of your life, so it's good to find a balance between low spending and still having a wonderful, beautiful and complete wedding experience.

The first thing you can look at is the place where you'll hold the wedding party, and even the ceremony. While a standard church ceremony may cost you some money, it should not be something you would need to compromise if you really want the event held there. But there are alternatives, like holding the ceremony in a garden, your own backyard or even on a beach. Ministers will be more than happy to travel to a specific location to perform the ceremony for you, so you can skip booking the church altogether and may find yourself spending less on this account.

Next, you'll need to think about the wedding reception itself. The number of guests, the ideas you have for entertaining them, what you're going to serve – all of these play an important part in determining the cost for your wedding. More guests inadvertently means more money to cater for all of them, but it does not need to be so. For example, you may have some caterer friends, baker friends or other people working in the food industry who will be invited. Talk things over with them and you might end up having to pay significantly less for the food and drinks. And since we're talking about drinks, you can save up on a lot of money by forfeiting the open bar idea – if people want a drink, they can easily pay an affordable price for one, which leaves you just the expenses related to soft drinks.

Last, but not least, you'll have to consider wedding decorations, music and a photographer and wedding videographer . While a wedding video and photos are not things you'd want to make any compromises on, you can save up on money for your wedding decorations by using your imagination instead of paying a professional to do it. Use recyclable materials and go crazy with decorating your own centerpieces. This will save up on a lot of money, allowing you to keep it or invest it in other aspects which will make your wedding an extra event, at an affordable cost.
