Wedding favors constituent one of those elements of your wedding which becomes all consuming in terms of time and effort. Not only do you have to go through the headache (and sometimes trauma) of finding the perfect favor, but then you need to make sure you order the right amount and that they will arrive in plenty of time.
Add to this choosing your packaging, decorations, tags, labels, stickers, ribbons and then making sure you have come up with the perfect finished design when everything is packaged up. I wonder how many brides find wedding favors the final straw!
But once you have ordered (and received) them, comes the task of putting them all together. This may seem like the most monotonous job especially if you have a couple of hundred of more to do, so why not turn your favor assembling into a party and share the load?
Holding a wedding favor party is a great chance for you to catch up with friends and get you favors made up at the same time. You could even combine it with your bridal shower. Or just turn it into a quiet night with girls, making favors, watching movies and having a drink!
You will need to set up plenty of room to work in, such as a large table or even the lounge floor if you can make space. Then lay out all the favor 'stuff'. It would be a good idea to make one or two up yourself first so you can show them what the finished article should look like and so you are up to speed with how they should go together.
Set everything up in different stations ie one to make up the favor boxes, one to fill, one to tie ribbon, one to add the tags etc. It would be a good idea to work out how many people you will need to fill each 'station' too many people and some maybe left out or the finished favors may not all look the same; too few people and you could be there all night and probably the next day as well!
Design some invites at home and send them round, then organize some drinks, food or takeout and a few movies. You could theme the night as well if you wanted to, such as a cocktail and canapés evening; although you may want to get the favors finished before you start on the cocktails!
Wedding favors can be taxing especially when couples with everything else you need to do within your wedding planning, but if your are crafty you can turn them into something fun and achieve a perfect end result in half the time it would take you to complete them on your own!
