Wedding Planning Tips: Creating Your Dreamy Beach Wedding – Part 1

[ad_1]

Beach weddings have gained in popularity in recent years since the beach and all its splendor provides the perfect romantic back for your nuptials. As with any venue, planning for your dream beach wedding can be daunting and there are a lot of additional elements that you have to take into consideration that are not present for indoor spaces. In this several part series, we'll explore all the elements necessary to host a beautiful beach wedding along with tips and design ideas that will help you create the beach wedding of your dreams.

First, a wedding at the beach is, by definition, an outdoor wedding so all the rules that apply to outdoor weddings apply here. You are at the whim of Mother Nature so, during the initial planning stages, its advisable to address the possibility of inclement weather and how you will deal with it. There's nothing like teaming rain or strong winds to ruin your perfect day. And, you certainly do not want to wait until the day before your wedding to find out that it will be raining and then scramble around trying to figure out how to keep your guests dry during the ceremony.

Planning far ahead of time and having a solid contingency plan will reduce your stress and keep you on track as the big day approaches.

As a Plan B option, have an alternate indoor venue available in case of bad weather which could include a covered shelter or recreation center located at the beach or an alternate indoor venue located near the original site. You will need to explore all possibilities of alternate venues at the outside of your planning as these sites may not be available at short notice.

Whatever your alternate venue plan is, you will also want to make sure that you have a plan to notify your guests of any last minute change of venue. You will not have time or be in any mood to make dozens of phone calls to guests the day before your wedding. You may want to include a printed note with your wedding invitations providing the details of the alternate venue in case of bad weather including directions.
