Even Vampires, allergic to the sun, need their Karen Walker sunglasses. Karen Walker draws blood this season with an eyewear collection that everyone should really sink their teeth into. The collection appropriately termed 'Celebrate the Sun,' features frames which have roots in vintage, but are infused with a modern flare.
A New Zealand-born fashion designer with a reputation for her original, effortless and unpretentious style, has showrooms in London, New York, Tokyo and Sydney. Karen walker's designs are quite an eclectic mix, bringing together many elements with a surprising ease. They embody lined and street, masculine and feminine, dark and bright.
In true Karen walker fashion, this season her range of eyewear, all modeled on the Vampires is both vivid and alluring. While we know we should be afraid when looking at the campaign, it has quite the oppostie effect and makes you want to grow Vampire teeth to match up to your favorite picture.
Some of our favorite sunglasses this season include:
Karen Walker Duper Strength sunglasses, as spotted on Alex Chung, are plastic oversized round P3 shaped frames. Vintage inspired circa late 70's early 80's, like the sunglasses in Annie Hall that started the craze. Also be sure to check out the Super Duper Strength. It's the same shape as the Duper Strength with thicker plastic temples.
Annie sunglasses are chic large butterfly shaped frame that fits most faces extremely well. Come in a black with crème accents and brown gradient lenses, just so perfect.
Last and certainly not least, the Deep Freeze is a classic wayfarer that works great on both men and women. It has modern line and subtle Karen Walker detailing and coming in a timeless color combo of spotted tortoise color with green lenses.
Karen walker takes her timeless effortless styling that has worked well for her fashion line and created a truly remarkable eyewear collection. So whatever your taste, sink your teeth into the collection and pick out a shade that is sure to be "bloody" great. However you should be warned that each piece is in limited availability and when they go out of stock it will likely mean months of waiting.
