Makeup Artists That Shaped the Cosmetics World

[ad_1]

Kevyn Aucoin and Trish McEvoy are two renown people in the makeup industry. Both of them changed and shaped the face of the cosmetics world and in the process left an indelible mark to every makeup artist and client's mind.

Kevyn Aucoin lived a relatively short life. He died on May 7, 2002 at the age of 40. Regardless, Aucoin remained as the most prominent, the highest paid, and the all time favorite makeup artist in history. That's not because he had worked with hundreds of A-list celebrities and models and had transformed them into completely different personas.

He's much loved by many because at the tender age of 21, Aucoin made a great and most surprising leap, he created a line of cosmetics that shatters the racial boundaries of a woman's beauty. Before, there were makeup especially designed for white women and there were also those exclusively for women with darker skin color.

But by 1984, Aucoin launched The Nakeds, a groundbreaking line of makeup specifically designed for all skin tones. Since then, all women of various skin colors use the same line of makeup. This paved the way to the creation of other cosmetic products that cater to empower women regardless of their race and background. True enough, Aucoin used his brilliance to help reveal the natural beauty of a woman sans the biases and prejudices.

Trish McEvoy, on the other hand, filled a void in the cosmetics industry. In 1970s, McEvoy recognized that there were a plethora of makeup products. However, she also noticed that there was an obvious shortage of makeup tools. In those days, there were very limited numbers and types of makeup brushes to apply makeup.

To satisfy this massive need in the makeup industry, McEvoy designed professional quality makeup brushes of all shapes and sizes, which were then later mass produced and marketed to the cosmetics world. Thanks to her canny observation, applying makeup became easy and is now a breeze. With these makeup brushes, makeup artists can effortlessly reveal a woman's natural beauty in every stroke.

Considering that makeup application is a form of art, every makeup artist must be equipped with different shades and tones of cosmetics as well as complete set of makeup brushes so he can transform his canvas, which in this case is a person's face and body, into a picturesque masterpiece. Thus, in every creation a makeup artist makes should somehow pay tribute to these two incredible people that affected the makeup industry.
