We've heard the songs from P Diddy but now we have a fragrance from him as well, and no matter your opinion on the man himself, his 'Unforgivable' fragment is held in all but inevitable.
The bottle design is in my opinion very poor and nothing special or going to live long in anyone's memory. A bog standard bottle in a 'cage' like holder, so no bonus marks here. However, lets delver a little deeper and see whats behind the surface.
The fragrance was designed by David Apel and as a well known perfumer, he has developed this scent to have a light Mediterranean theme with Basil, Lavender and quite heavy citrus (lemon) notes. The underpinning to this aftershave is very marine in essence with sandalwood, tonka bean and amber, although I could not detect the amber in my wearing of the product. There are also notes of sea moss and sage which again, i thought was a nice combination.
After wearing this aftershave a few times now, i can say that it has honestly grown on me and i find myself strangely addicted to sniffing my wrists (where i sprayed it) through the day. The lasting power is very good, i fell asleep on the evening and woke up in the night and i could still smell it even though the notes i could smell had changed, it was very pleasant.
I think the appeal of this cologne is to the younger age group say 16-25 and would certainly appeal to woman in this age range as i had lots of compliments while wearing it for the 2 days i have been trying it).
The fragrance is very light and has a nice citrus accord, which turns my sour (but not in a bad way) with melon and tonk bean notes. I find that this difference is constantly changing and it smells so different one hour to the next.
I'm not sure why this fragrance has had such a bad press as i for one would give it an 8 out of 10 (with the bottle design losing it higher marks). It is not a innovative fragrance but one that is well executed and has great stamina. Would recommend to my friends!
